I finally got a spare moment to document what we did this year for Thanksgiving. It all started the night before Thanksgiving at my parents house. My mother decided we didn't give enough attention to the dessert on Thanksgiving. So instead of shoving your mouth full of pie after you have stuffed yourself on Turkey Day, she decided to gather the family and have pie night. We ate dinner at our respective homes and then met at my parents to enjoy the pie, maybe even get stuffed on the good stuff. My mom made a ton of pies. Pretty much everyone had their favorite pie, maybe even a pie a person. I couldn't believe how many pies she had. They were all yummy. I had to stop because I almost went into sugar overload. After we stuffed ourselves silly with they pie, we were given gingerbread houses to put together and decorate. It was fun. At first I was all trying to make it look all cutsy and artistic, but soon - very soon, I found out that that wasn't going to be the case. Bug and Pete were going at it, putting things wherever they thought it would look good. After surveying the situation, I decided I'd do the same. I put some frosting down and then took a handful of candy and plopped it on. In the end, it looked great. We now have it displayed on our kitchen counter.
The next day was ole Turkey Day. Pete wanted to get down to WVC by 10:30 am to get to the Annual Turkey Bowl with his family. We missed it the last two years due to the fact that we lived in Florida. He was all excited. We amazingly enough, arrived on time before anyone else in his immediate family arrived. While the boys, and some girls, played football outside, my girls and I were in his Aunt Elaine's house enjoying some holiday treats and visiting with the others who opted not to play football. Once the game was over, we headed to Pete's sister, Suzanne, house. Pete got cleaned up and I helped with getting the dinner ready (well at least make sure my part was complete and ready for the dinner). I actually started the day out feeling sick. I had been battling sinus pressure all week. Once dinner was ready and everyone was there, we chowed down. I, like I mentioned earlier, wasn't feeling too well. I only had one plate of the yummy food and my head was pounding. I wasn't able to help clean up - sorry guys and I ended up laying on the couch to try to take a nap - like that's going to happen with my girls around. I didn't even get any pie that night - I made cheesecake and apple pie. Everyone else said it tasted good. All in all, it was a good thanksgiving - even though I felt like crap.
Here are a few pictures of Bug and Roo playing their own football game.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and let everyone know how much you are thankful for them. I am especially thankful for my family (my girls and hubby and extended family as well). We have much to be thankful for this season and we are lucky to have the friends and family that we have. Thank you ALL!!
