MORGAN MANIA: Trip to Gator Park

While Grandma and Grandpa Morgan were here visiting, we went south towards Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area to visit the Everglades. We went to a place called Gator Park. There we took an airboat tour through the Everglades. It was a very, I said VERY hot and HUMID day. No wind whatsoever. And poor K, she had to wear a life jacket. She was not very happy about that, and everyone on the boat knew it.

There is a picture of an alligator in the Everglades and a little turtle sitting on a log in the Everglades. Look close, they are there. There is also a picture of a iguana/lizard in the tree. Look closely, it blends in with the tree. It took me a few takes to find it and I was right there. The grasshopper was humongous. If I remember right, the grasshopper is poisonous. It eats the poisonous leaf off of some tree and it sweats the poison. It was gross. He caught it and then threw it onto the boat. I was sure it was going to jump on me. Yuck!!

Every time the tour guide stopped the boat, we all died in the heat. It was getting really irritating. I was worried about K and her overheating in the life jacket. It was interesting listening to him tell us about the alligators and such, but he kept going over and over the same stuff. It kept thinking, "just turn the boat on to get some air flowing!!!" After the HOT tour we got off the boat and had a little animal show. We got to see baby alligators, crocidiles, scorpions, a monkey, and a toad. I think that was it. The animal handler kept putting the creatures in my face. He even tried to get Grandma to kiss the toad. Grandma backed away from it, but K almost kissed it until the legs started moving. We were able to hold a real live aligator. Well, Pete held it, I held K and stood by it. It was really soft. Pete kept claiming that it made his hands feel softer. (Whatever).
