For some reason, every fall, I get the itch to make donuts. Even when we lived in Florida, as hot as it was there, I still wanted to make them. The other day, as Pete was at YM's, the girls and I decided to make good on my craving. We started out with putting on our aprons. Don't we look cute? Roo looked like she was a hockey goalie. Dang cute. Anyway, we made the dough, and since I wanted yeast donuts, we had to wait for them to raise. It took forever. When Pete got home, we took a ride to the store to get him some things for the basement. Meanwhile our dough kept rising, and rising. Finally, we made it back home, heated up the oil, rolled out the dough, and started cutting out the donuts. MMMM they smelled good. We ended up making 48 donuts and some donut holes - which the girls loved. Bug wanted some sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon, I wanted maple and glazed. Well, we ended up with a TON of donuts. We ate some for breakfasts, and snacks, we even took some to our friends house to help us get rid of them. They were good, but 48 donuts - too many for our little family. Now, I think it is time for sugar cookies! Yum, Yum!!

Mmm! They sound yummy! How do you make the maple and glaze for the top? I need your recipes! :)
When Brien hears about the donut making he is going to wank to crank out a batch.
So much for low-carb, low-sugar living!
I need you to teach me how to make donuts - mine don't look like that when I make them!
