At the end of July, Pete had a meeting to attend in the Orlando area. So K and I went along for the ride. Since it is about a little over 2 hours away we spent the night and the next day K and I played. I found a zoo nearby and that's where we went until Pete was done with his meeting. Boy what a hot and humid day. By the time I got from the parking lot to the entrance of the zoo, it was like I had dumped a bucket of water over me. K was all wet too. At first I thought what kind of punnishment did I put myself up to? K didn't want to sit in the stroller and she certainly didn't want to put on the "leash". So I kept a very close eye on her and every once in a while I was able to convince her to sit in the stroller. It actually turned out to be a good day, a fun one also. K loved the elephants. When she saw them, she kept making the elephant noise. If you haven't heard her, it is really funny. Here she is in the middle of making the noise in front of the elephants.
There were a lot of animals to look at. K would stop and look at all sorts of things, not just animals. She was really cute. It rained while we were there. It kind of cooled things off - just a tiny bit. Towards the end of our stay at the zoo, we ended up by the mountain goats, some kind of cow thing, turkeys and some sheep. It was so funny. K saw the goats and thought they were doggies. She went up to the fence and started barking at them. She wasn't afraid of the goats. They kept trying to lick her, she didn't care though. When she saw the cow, she started mooing. Everyone around started laughing and thought it was cute. By the time we got to that point, the camera died so I didn't get any pictures of that. It was a really good day at the zoo, we wish Pete would have been able to go with us. The next time we go to Orlando, maybe we will go to Disney World. K has been showing interest in Mickey Mouse. Enjoy the pictures of our day at the zoo.

Brien and I went to the Hogle Zoo last Friday (the 7th). He probabaly had as much fun as Kyla did. I can't believe how big she is getting. By the way, we saw the gifts you sent your parents, very nice. You impress me.
Kyla is almost like the Travelocity Gnome. Showing up in all sorts of different locations. In fact if you put her in a blue vest and red hat she sort of looks like a gnome.
