Lake Powell 2008

At the beginning of August, we were invited to go to Lake Powell with our friends in our neighborhood. We loaded up the car and took off for Powell at 6:45 am, kids ripped out of bed and shoved into their car seats, pj's and sleepy-eyed, we were off. We made it down there - and just in time too. We had tried to get a hold of our friends Cal & Gena the entire way there, but no such luck. But as luck would have it, we were able to get Cal on his phone just as we pulled into the parking lot at the marina - He was just about to launch a boat in the lake. We loaded our stuff on the boat and we were off for a fun week in Powell. (This was only the 2ND time Pete had been to Lake Powell). The girls were excited to be on the boat and spend the week on a house boat - or as K would say the "boat house". The girls even got used to the life jackets that needed to be on almost all the time. They were really good and surprised even me. Once we all got comfortable, we really enjoyed the time with our friends. Thanks again, Cal and Gena!!
